I know I’m a little late to the party but Happy New Year to you all! I wish you all the best for the year ahead!
This month I’ve decided to finally take the plunge and film my very first Glossybox Unboxing video for YouTube (it’s not the greatest of quality and I’m not the best video editor but we’ve all got to start somewhere right?). Anyway, I’ll link it further down so if you’d like to see it you can!
This perfume, created by 20th century FOX and based on the 1953 American rom-com starring Marilyn Monroe, ‘How to marry a millionaire’, is a perfect tribute to the late star.
I think it was around this time last year that I first ordered from Cosmetics Fairy, they’re a bit hit and miss when it comes to their stock so they’re not really a regular place to shop for me but sometimes they do have a good few products!
If you haven’t already heard, Greenery 15-0343 is the Pantone colour of the year! Now, I normally cannot stand green in any way shape or form but when this was labelled the colour of 2017 I thought I’d give it a shot!
Illamasqua were so kind as to send me a few green shaded products to work with and after a lot of denial I finally HAD to admit to myself that I did actually enjoy working with greens.
The single eyeshadow in the shade Fledging is literally one of the most pigmented eyeshadows I’ve used, the swatch shown is just one swipe, it’s such a creamy, buttery formula and it blends out like a dream. I honestly need to get my hands on more of these shadows. The packaging is the iconic Illamasqua curved edge square shape with a little window so you can see the shade straight off.
The Sketch Stick in Trip reminds me of the NYX jumbo pencils but the packaging is a little fatter and longer. It has a twist up base so no sharpening required. The lid is a ton of effort to push on and remove so if you need a touch up in the day then know that it will not come off anytime soon! Trip is more of a lighter, yellow toned green but works perfectly for any eye colour, there are just endless possibilities of looks to create. I really like the Sketch stick for filling in my waterline or an all over lid shade in a cut crease or smokey eye look.
I honestly could not rate these products any higher, I have no issues with using them in the slightest, I do plan on buying every single eyeshadow shade available after trying this one out! The singe shadows are £16.50 each (but totally worth it!) and the sketch sticks are £15 reduced to £4.50 at Illamasqua.com
Huge thank you to Illamasqua here for helping me step outside my comfort zone and play around with some colour!
Lipsense is the main product by SeneGence (I actually had no idea who SeneGence were until now!) Lipsense on the other hand, well if you haven’t heard of them then you MUST have been living under a rock, I can’t even log into Instagram without seeing a post or two promoting Lipsense products!
Well, thank goodness 2016 is over and we get to start a fresh in 2017! The past month has brought so much stress I can’t even begin to explain, I’ve learned a ton this past year though and I’ve had some amazing opportunities thrown my way and tried countless new brands of beauty products. This year will see the start of my YouTube channel and my blog will be expanding to talk about a wider variety of topics!
